The next piece of concept art for the new species is ready! The Sastrugi will be the first introduction to the new Empire faction, appearing in the next installment after the Jakkari. This will usher in a new era for Pinwheel of peer opponents and political intrigue!

This artwork was provided once again by our friend Oouna, featuring male and female examples of the species in different outfits. As always, this meets Oouna’s extremely high standards, and the images are packed with impressive details. Of particular note are the four eyes, two of which are adapted for vision in dark water. I love the space suit and the coveralls, make sure you zoom in to check out all the little zippers and patches.

The theme for these guys was strongfat, we really wanted to create a nice balance between functional strength and some insulating padding, and I think Oouna really succeeded in that. At a height of seven feet, these guys stand taller than humans, and they’re bigger than that makes them sound!

 

Couldn’t be happier with how these guys turned out, and reception has already been very positive, so I’m excited to get to their story! Oouna has more new species on the way for us, so stay tuned!
